JohnBW wrote: "But as a company, PreSonus appears to make some odd marketing decisions from time to time. That's all I have to say about the subject. Lighten up OK? Everybody start out with a first step. I will add that it appears some of the members here have made some rather insensitive comments in this thread towards potential new users and their perceived inability to grasp how it's done now. I really do want Studio One to grow and be successful, which is why I think that Prime should be readily available just as it was when I hooked up with it 6 years ago. ![]() I was simply trying to share the link to Prime with a friend to nudge them towards Studio One.Īs a Studio One Pro user since 2017, I guess that would make me a sort of a fanboy, but I do hate that word as it tends to have a derogatory connotation.īut as a company, PreSonus appears to make some odd marketing decisions from time to time. Steve Carter wroteThe OP (me) won’t have trouble ‘utilizing’ Prime - the trouble was finding it… I now know, due to the kind guidance given by some, where to look for it - thanks again…. In this case, it's possibly worth where the link is, note "access to all program options".Ī moderator could probably que it up in a personal suggestion box, but man it would be nice if there was some real emphasis on DAW improvements. There are a LOT of inquiries where people either can't view the program on the screen correctly, can't see the right side of the mouse to click and see an instantly available menu selection, etc. That probably sounds a little sarcastic (not towards anyone), but I think there is some truth to it. I mean some people will just get to the end result, and others will sit there like a little bird with their mouth open and say "feed me". ![]() The OP had trouble utilizing it, so it's relevant up to the point of whomever is in the driver's seat (isn't it always?). That's fair, I guess I'm just out of gas on the subject, but it evidently is an issue with some. So Prime is buried now unless you know where it is (in the trial)! That's like looking for an Easter egg. JohnBW wrote Lokeyfly wroteOne could start with the full version to trial, then go to Prime (free).īut that's just the issue now! I personally don't see an issue with the trial thingy, except that fact is not explained anywhere except in these forums by knowledgeable members. And I am a happy Studio One Pro user now, not some random guy who just got pissed because he couldn't get it for free! That's how I got started with Studio One. I just think it is important to make it easily available for new users to find. ![]() I will leave any speculation as to the possible reason for this change up to others, as I am just stating the facts as known to set the record straight. So now it's an unnecessary exercise in frustration trying to locate those newer procedures, and the only way I located them was by searching the forum. Unless you already know that you can switch to Prime during a trial install, then good luck! Unfortunately, there is no longer any direct link to Prime in the PreSonus shop itself. Jazzundso wroteThere have never been different downloads for Studio One Pro/Artist/Prime/Trial.Įdit: I was unable to locate my original Prime installer, so without proof that it was an actual different download, I will defer to the benefit of the doubt.īut Prime did have it's own link in the shop until 2021, as the Internet Archive snapshots above prove.
